The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

Klobuchar, in citing sex trafficking around the world, said, "Opportunity for women is not a sign of a country's weakness, it is a sign of a nation's strength.

She introduces a woman, a sex trafficking survivor, Ima Matul.

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, a rising star in the party from Minnesota, is speaking to Hillary Clinton's efforts as secretary of state against sex trafficking.

"And when Hillary said, 'Human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights,' she named sex trafficking as a violation of those rights."
