LIVE BLOG: Clinton Becomes First Woman Nominated for President

update

The Democratic Party made it official Tuesday, naming Hillary Clinton their candidate for president in 2016 – and making history by selecting the first woman to represent a major U.S. political party. Following the roll call vote, Tuesday's speakers included former President Bill Clinton as well as the Mothers of the Movement -- the mothers of Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and other young black victims of violence.

TV pans to the crowd and shows Hillary Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky. Speaking soon will be former President Bill Clinton.

Howard Dean took on Donald Trump and his running mate, Mike Pence: Mike Pence once said that when both parents work, children end up facing "stunted emotional growth." I'm a doctor. Let me tell you what actually stunts children's growth. Not having access to health care. Inadequate funding for school nutrition programs. Guns — the ultimate public-health crisis.

The next speakers of the night will address Clinton's tenure as secretary of state.

Next video is President Barack Obama introducing Hillary Clinton as his secretary of state.
