U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday called off his planned June 12 summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The news comes hours after North Korea carried out what it said is the demolition of its nuclear test site Thursday, setting off a series of explosions over several hours in the presence of foreign journalists. The Trump administration has launched a national security investigation into car and truck imports that could lead to new U.S. tariffs similar to those imposed on imported steel and aluminum in March. Gary Hufbauer, non-resident Senior, Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics says the move may be another bargaining tactic by the president. Plus, the World Cup football tournament is set to kick off soon in Russia and fans from all over the world will be watching in person, on television and online.. and an American will be performing the official World Cup theme.
