Factbox: Who is Khadim Rizvi?

Khadim Rizvi, an Islamic cleric and founder of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), was detained last week.

— Rizvi was arrested in Pakistan's Punjab province along with hundreds of other TLP leaders and activists. The government says Rizvi was arrested for not rescinding calls for new street protests.

— TLP, the Islamist-political party, is a staunch supporter of Pakistan's controversial blasphemy law. It has organized several violent protests in Pakistan to support the blasphemy law over the past two years.

— TLP recently organized violent protests over the acquittal of a Christian woman accused of insulting the Prophet Muhammad. TLP leadership also openly incited its followers to kill the Supreme Court judges who passed the ruling.

— Rizvi also had warned the government of dire consequences if the Christian woman was set free.

— Rizvi's party was able to secure more than 2 million votes in the country's general elections in July.
