Blasts Kill 6 in Kenyan Capital

Residents jostle to see the slain body of a man inside a police pick-up truck near the scene of an explosion along Juja Road in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, March 31, 2014.

Three explosions in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, have killed at least six people and wounded two dozen more in a coordinated strike.

The explosions occurred late Monday in a neighborhood with a large Somali population.

The city's police chief, Benson Kibue said at least 25 were wounded.

Two restaurants and the exterior of a women's health clinic were hit.

The Somali militant group al-Shabab has long threatened attacks in Kenya unless the country withdraws its troops from southern Somalia.

Al-Shabab claimed the attack on Nairobi's Westgate Mall in September, in which at least 67 people were killed.
