The videoconference between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping this week was lauded as a step forward in the countries' relationship. Xi called Biden an "old friend," and Biden said he hoped the two could work together on climate change and other challenges. But some critics of Beijing in the U.S. were hoping for more.
