Authorities in Iraq have discovered the bodies of 34 men believed killed by insurgents.
Thirteen were discovered in a shallow grave in eastern Baghdad. They had been tied up, blindfolded and shot in the head.
At a similar scene 40 kilometers south of Baghdad, police found 11 bodies dumped at an abandoned chicken farm.
And in Ramadi, the bodies of 10 Iraqi soldiers were discovered.

A leading Shiite cleric, Sheik Qassim al-Gharawi, and his nephew were shot to death.
And a car-bomb exploded near the motorcade of Diyala provincial governor Raed Rashid Hamid al-Mullah Jawad. Three of his bodyguards were injured, but he escaped unharmed.
