Civilians in Irpin, Ukraine, told VOA the humanitarian corridors agreed to by Ukraine and Russia allowed many people to escape the city Tuesday. About 3,000 people have fled the embattled city in recent days as food supplies dwindled. Those who left had to find a way to cross the Irpin River after Ukrainian forces destroyed bridges to slow the Russian advance.
