Trump Elected US President

update

Here's a recap of VOA's live coverage of the historic 2016 election.

Supporters of Hillary Clinton are rocking their pantsuits for this pivotal vote.

The Democratic presidential nominee is known for her colorful wardrobe of monochromatic pantsuits, which have become an unlikely fashion trend this election season.

Beyonce, trendsetter of trendsetters, sported a polka-dot number during a Clinton concert Friday night.

Other voters paid homage to past generations with their pantsuit choices.

And another voter reminded others that not too long ago, only men wore the pants in America:

For the big day, Clinton chose to cast her vote in a pantsuit in on-trend greige (between gray and beige), with wide lapels and bracelet-length sleeves.

Her husband also wore a dark blue men's version of the outfit, known as a suit.

Trump wins Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. Clinton wins New York.

Putting the Senate races into some context: Democrats need to pick up five seats to be the majority party in the Senate (or only four if Hillary Clinton wins the presidential election because the vice president breaks any tie vote.)

So far, the only seat the Democrats have been able to flip is in Illinois, where Tammy Duckworth, an Iraq War veteran, is projected to defeat Republican incumbent Mark Kirk.

Races are close in North Carolina, Missouri, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, where Republicans currently hold the Senate seats.

As expected, Republican Senator John McCain has held on to his seat in Arizona.
