Gillum says he is a father and he and his wife are raising 2-year-old twins.

"So when I head to the voting booth, they are coming with me. Because I want them to know that I'm not just casting my vote for Hillary Clinton and my fellow Democrats, I am casting my vote for them," Gillum says.

"Ensuring the kind of future they deserve requires leadership that will unify and inspire us," he says.
