A major earthquake struck northern Afghanistan Monday, killing scores of people there as well as in neighboring Pakistan. Centered 82 kilometers southeast of Feyzabad in a remote area of the Hindu Kush mountain range, the quake registered at a magnitude of 7.5, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
